Morocco, Kingdom. An Order of Ouissam Alaouite, III Class Commander to Alopfo Martin-Gamero

(L'Ordre du Alaouite Chérifien). Instituted in 1913. Type III (1954-Date). Three-piece construction, in silver gilt with red, white and green enamels, type III as defined by the inscriptions on the centrepiece on the obverse, unmarked, measuring 58 mm (w) x 85.5 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath and laterally-pierced ball suspension, intact enamels, original full-length neck ribbon, extremely fine. Accompanied by its rosette, measuring 9 mm in diameter and incorporating a button hole attachment, in its hardshelled case of issue, mahogany red dimpled exterior, gilt Moroccan coat-of-arms along with two labels, one identifying the name of the order, the other name inscribed "S.E. Mr. ADOLFO MARTIN-GAMERO" on the lid, inside lid in white satin, padded and maker marked "ARTHUS BERTRAND RABAT", base with a raised platform in orange felt for the award and slotted at the lower left for the rosette, measuring 88.3 mm (w) x 157 mm (h), scuffing on the exterior, case better than very fine. 

Footnote: The Order of Ouissam Alaouite (AKA Sharifian Order of Al-Alaoui) was instituted on January 11, 1913 by Sultan Yusuf. It is a military decoration of Morocco which is bestowed by the King of Morocco upon those civilians and military officers who have displayed heroism in combat or have contributed meritorious service to the Moroccan state. The decoration was established on January 11, 1913 in replacement of the Order of Ouissam Hafidien. It is awarded in five classes: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
