An Order of the Rising Sun, V Class, constructed of silver with gilt and multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a double-sided central red cabochon medallion situated within stylized white enameled rays with partially gilded borders, topped by enameled paulownia flowers, the reverse bearing Japanese characters, culminating in an integral loop and suspension ring retaining a period original ribbon with clasp, unmarked measuring 45.27 mm (w) x 71.22 mm (h), weighing 38.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by a matching boutonniere, both contained within a period original presentation case, constructed of a black lacquered wooden frame, the interior with a purple satin lid liner and depressed purple velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal snap button, measuring 7 cm (w) x 13 cm (l) x 3 cm (h), demonstrating minor flecking to the enamels, in extremely fine condition.
2. An Order of the Rising Sun, VII Class, constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of double-sided green and purple enameled paulownia flowers, the reverse bearing Japanese characters, topped by an integral loop and suspension ring retaining a period original ribbon with clasp, unmarked, measuring 31.22 mm (w) x 33.76 mm (h), weighing 22.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a black lacquered wooden frame, the interior with a purple satin lid liner and depressed purple velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal snap button, measuring 6 cm (w) x 9.5 cm (l) x 2.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor flecking to the enamels, in extremely fine condition.
