Japan, Empire. A Cased Order of the Golden Kite, VII. Class Breast Badge

(Kinshi Kunshō). Instituted February 12th, 1890. Constructed of silver, the obverse depicting a gilt Kite above crossed ancient shields with two crossed spears and banners, on a horizontally pierced ball and swivel ring for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a hook and loop on the reverse for secure attachment to a uniform, unmarked, measuring 42.2 mm (w) x 57.0 mm (l), in near extremely fine condition. 

Accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden core with a glossy black bakelite exterior, the exterior of the lid embossed with the name and class of the award in Japanese characters, with a functional exterior hinge, intact interior fabric hinge cover, and functional exterior metal clasp, measuring 58 mm (w) x 86 mm (l), in near very fine condition.
