Japan, Empire. An Order of the Sacred Treasure, III Class Commander, in Case

(Zuiho-Shō). Instituted January 4th, 1888. A beautiful decoration, in silver gilt with white enamel arms with 16 red cabochons superimposed on the obverse, the center medallion in silver gilt with silver and blue enamels, the reverse is silver with engraved Kanji and two rivets on the 3 and 9 o’clock arms, measures 52.0 mm (w) x 57.1 mm (h - inclusive of integral suspension ring), weighs 36.0 grams, accompanied by the full length neck ribbon with clasp, enamels intact, light scattered gilt wear, remains in extremely fine condition. 

Accompanied by its original case of issue, a black lacquer exterior with kanji denoting the order, the interior bearing a dark purple velvet medal bed and purple silk lid, measuring 80 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 35 mm (d), clasp and hinge functional, very minor wear, remains in extremely fine condition.
