Taiwan, Chinese Republic. An Order of the Brilliant Star, II Class Grand Cross Set in Case, c.1960

Instituted February 12,1941. A Grand Cross Set, comprising the sash badge, in silver gilt, an eight point star, clusters of faceted rays with white enamel with red and blue enamels, the centerpiece features a white enamel star on a blue enamel field, two stars at 11 and 1 o’clock denote II Class, the reverse is plain with characters and is numbered 1926, measures 74.7 mm (diameter), worn on a full length sash with rosette, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.

The Star of the Order, in silver gilt, an eight point base with clusters of faceted rays, the enamelled insignia superimposed featuring white, red, blue enamel rays with a central white star on a blue field, two small stars at 11 and 1 o’clock denote II Class, the reverse features a vertical pin suspension, reverse engraved with characters and is numbered 1926, measures 90.5 mm (w) x 90.7 mm (h), enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.

Contained in its original case of issue, a blue velvet box with metal floral patter on the lid presenting the flag of Taiwan, the interior with a silk lid and a red velvet medal bed with a ribbon compartment below, measures 210 mm (w) x 275 mm (l) x 65 mm (d), hinge and clasp functional, a lovely case in extremely fine condition.

The case is contained within its large purple box with base and lid, floral and geometric patterns on the lid, in extremely fine condition.
