A West Wall Medal, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a double-sided oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the top and bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised pillbox, topped by a crossed sword and shovel and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR ARBEIT ZUM SCHUTZE DEUTSCHLANDS” (“FOR WORK IN THE PROTECTION OF GERMANY”), unmarked, measuring 33.26 mm (w) x 45.21 mm (h), weighing 13.4 grams, accompanied by its original package of issue, constructed of beige paper stock, the exterior maker marked “CARL POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), a rare example of a zink award retaining all of its original finish, in overall near mint condition.
2. A Wehrmacht Driver Proficiency Badge, Gold Grade, constructed of gilded magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath surrounding a central steering wheel, the the reverse retaining attachment prongs and an original backplate, unmarked, measuring 41.38 (w) x 45.32 mm (h), weighing 7.4 grams, accompanied by its original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the exterior maker marked “RUDOLF SOUVAL, WIEN”, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), missing its wool and paper liners, in very fine condition.
