(Wiederholungsspange 1939 zum Eisernen Kreuz 1. Klasse 1914, 2. Form mit Etui). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1940-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn situated above a trapezoidal plaque bearing a date of “1939” on a pebbled background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a Type A decoration produced by B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim, measuring 44.25 mm (w) x 30.62 mm (h), weighing 9.9 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a silvered depiction of the award, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black doeskin medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 65 mm (w) x 65 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in demonstrating minor material fatigue to the case, a second pattern award in overall extremely fine condition.
