Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Tsar Alexander I in medieval armour and wielding a spear with an ornately-decorated shield executed in high relief, circumscribed by a Russian Cyrillic inscription of “РОДОМЫСЛЪ ДЕВЯТАГОНАДЕСЯТЬ ВѢКА” (“RODOMYSL OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY”), the reverse bearing a raised depiction of a seated female personification of the city of Moscow, situated behind a helmeted warrior wielding a sword and shield overlaid by a radiant cross, routing multiple enemies, topped by an inscription of “ОСВОБОЖДЕНIЕ МОСКВЫ” (“LIBERATION OF MOSCOW”), above a date of “1812”, the obverse engraver marked with the dedication of Alexey Klepikov, St.Petersburg, measuring 65.21 mm in diameter, weighing 128.3 grams, demonstrating minor edge nicks, in extremely fine condition.
