Description
(Medalja e Trimerise). Instituted 9 July 1945. Type I. A circular medal constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse bearing two left-facing soldiers bearing guns in the foreground and a mountainous background with a star at the top and rays towards the mountains, encompassed by a laurel wreath border, the reverse bears the inscription “PER TRIMERI” (FOR BRAVERY), on a pentagonal red and white striped ribbon with horizontal pinback, measuring 31.61 mm (w) x 36.43 mm (h), very rare, very fine.
Footnote: The Medal and Order for Bravery was awarded to officers, warrant officers and soldiers of the People’s Army and Ministry of Internal Affairs for the display of valor in battle against the enemies of Albania, in military operations or in defense of the frontiers or against spies and other enemies of the nation. Medals from the communist era are extremely rare.
