(Militär Maria Theresien Orden). Instituted on June 18th, 1757. (c. 1970 issue). A fine quality Museum Exhibition example of this prestigious order, consisting of a gilded silver Cross Pattėe with white enameled arms, the obverse with a central medallion bearing horizontal red-white-red stripes of enamels representing the Austrian flag, surrounded by a white enameled ring inscribed “Fortitudini” in capitalized Latin, the reverse equally with white enameled arms and a central enameled medallion, inscribed with the Royal Cypher of Maria Theresia, surrounded by a green ring of enamels, suspended from an affixed and a swivel ring from its period original tri-fold ribbon, unmarked but undoubtedly manufactured by C.F. Rothe & Neffe in Vienna, measuring 30.4 mm (w) x 32.8 mm (l), weighing 12.46 grams, with the enamels extremely well preserved, in near mint condition.
