(Ordre de la Couronne / Kroonorde). Instituted in 1897. Type II (1951-present). In silver, unmarked, measuring 30.2 mm (w) x 60.8 mm (h) inclusive of its crown and ribbon suspension, tiny edge nicks, very light contact, original ribbon, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Crown was instituted on October 15, 1897, the two Palms and three Medals being added on June 25, 1898. It is awarded for merit in art, literature, science, commerce and industry, in five classes: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight, along with two palms in Gold and Silver Grades, and three medals in Gold, Silver and Bronze Grades.
