Rád Bilého Lva. Instituted in 1922. Hardshelled, deep red thatched-look cloth exterior, lacquered on five sides, the bottom without lacquer and maker marked "LINDAUER PRAHA" with the company's insignia, Czech lion in silver-coloured ink on the lid, Order maker marked "KARNET & KYSELÝ PRAHA" on the white satin inside lid, a white cardboard insert placed within the base and housing a navy blue velvet raised platform with recessed medal beds for the badge and breast star, dual-hinged, two clasp closure, one of which is missing, measuring 117 mm (w) x 252 mm (h) x 37 mm (d), light wear and scuffing evident on the exterior, small nip in the navy blue velvet where the breast star was housed in the medal bed, very fine.
Footnote: The Order of the White Lion was created as an award for merit by Czechoslovakia for foreign citizens. The Order was established in two divisions, Civil (with two crossed palms above the badge) and Military (with two crossed swords above the badge); in five classes: I Class with collar, I Class Grand Cross, II Class Grand Officer, III Class Commander, IV Class Officer and V Class Knight, along with a I Class Gold Medal and II Class Silver Medal.
