1.France, III Republic. A War Cross 1914-1918. In bronze, square-cross medal on two crossed swords, obverse bearing the profile of Marianne facing right surrounded by the inscription REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, reverse bearing 1914 1917, on the original ribbon with one bronze star (for brigade or regimental level), evidence of mark on obverse cross, extremely fine condition. 

Footnote: The Croix de Guerre is a military decoration of France, instituted on 2 April 1915. The decoration was first awarded during World War I, again in World War II, and in other conflicts; the croix de guerre des théâtres d'opérations extérieures ("cross of war for external theaters of operations") was established in 1921 for these. 

2. France, III Republic. WW11 War Cross. In bronze, square-cross medal on two crossed swords, obverse bearing the profile of Marianne facing right surrounded by the inscription REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, reverse bearing 1939, on the original ribbon with two palm leaves (for army level despatch), evidence of green mark on top of ribbon, extremely fine condition.

5. France, III Republic. A National Order of the Legion of Honour, 

In silver, with white, blue, and green enamels, five-pointed star surrounded by laurel wreath, each of the arms finished with two finials, obverse center shows profile of Marianne facing right with inscription “République Française 1870”, reverse centerpiece shows flag of France surrounded by blue-enameled ring with the inscription “Honneur et Patrie”, inclusive of green-enameled laurel wreath 58.1 mm (h) x 38 mm (w), on original red ribbon, evidence of wear on obverse and reverse white enamel, very fine condition. 

Footnote: The award was instituted in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte. It is the highest French order of merit and is awarded for eminent service to the nation, civilian or military, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.

6. France, . A National Order of the Legion of Honour, In silver, with white, blue, and green enamels, five-pointed star surrounded by laurel wreath, each of the arms finished with two finials, obverse center bearing the profile of Napoleon I with the inscription NAPOLEON EMPEREUR DES FRANCAIS, reverse center bearing the imperial eagle facing right surrounded by blue-enameled ring with the inscription HONNEUR ET PATRIE, inclusive of crown 67.8 mm (h) x 43.2 mm (w), on original red ribbon, very fine condition,

7. France, Second Empire. A Saint Helena Medal. Bronze medallion surrounded by laurel wreath, obverse bearing the profile of Napoleon I surrounded by inscription NAPOLEON I EMPEREUR, reverse inscription A SES COMPAGNONS DE GLOIRE SA DERNIÈRE PENSÉE STE HÉLÈNE 5 MAI 1821, on original ribbon, extremely fine condition. 

Footnote: The Saint Helena Medal was the first French campaign medal. It was established on 12 August 1857 by a decree of Emperor Napoleon III to recognise participation in the campaigns led by Emperor Napoleon I. It was awarded to all French and foreign soldiers, from the land armies or naval fleets, who served the Republic or the Empire between the years 1792 and 1815 inclusive.
