(Ordre du Mérite Agricole). Instituted in 1883. Type II. In silver gilt with blue and white enamels, cornucopia hallmarked and marked with a "1" on the tip of the two ribbons on the reverse (the cornucopias designating the manufacturer marks of Monnaie of Paris, the "1" representing the silver assay mark for a .900 silver minimum), measuring 51.5 mm (w) x 96.3 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath and integral ring suspension, chipping and loss evident in the blue enamels on the centrepiece ring on the reverse, otherwise the enamels are intact, on its original full-length neck ribbon, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, red pebbled exterior, inside lid lined in white nylon and maker marked "MONNAIE DE PARIS" (Money of Paris, a government-owned institution responsible for producing France's coins and some awards), base with a raised platform with a red felt medal bed, case extremely fine.
