(Abzeichen). A lot of four First World War Central Powers patriotic badges, including:
1. A large first war year badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse overlaid by a central silvered medallion bearing rightward-facing profiles of Kaiser Wilhelm II and Emperor Franz Joseph, surrounded by a green enameled laurel wreath, with an outer ring featuring German, Austria, Hungarian, and Ottoman flags joined with an inscription of “HEIL 1915 SIEG” (“HAIL 1915 VICTORY”), the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 28 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
2. A Central Powers shield badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a shield perforated with crossed swords and bearing enameled German, Austrian, Hungarian, and Ottoman flags, flanked by oak leaves, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 26 mm (w) x 26 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. A small Central Powers shield badge, constructed of gilded bronze with mutli-coloured enamels, the obverse bearing German, Austria, Hungarian, and Ottoman flags, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 14 mm (w) x 16 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
4. A small Central Powers flag badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse bearing an Imperial War Flag, an Austrian flag, and an Ottoman flag, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 19 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
