Baden, Grand Duchy. A Medal Bar for Long and Distinguished Service

(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar for long and distinguished service featuring two decorations, including:

1. A Civil Merit Medal, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Grand Duke Friedrich II, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST” (“FOR MERIT”), the obverse engraver marked “RM” for Rudolf Mayer, Karlsruhe, measuring 38.16 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.

2. A Long Service Medal, III Class for 9 Years, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and wreathed monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich II, the revere bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE BEI DER FAHNE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE FLAG”), above a wreathed number “9” in Roman numerals, unmarked, measuring 30.94 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.

Both suspended from a 70 mm-long non-magnetic metal bar with a horizontal pinback and maroon wool reverse liner, unmarked, in extremely fine condition.
