(Miniaturen). A pair of miniature Saxon orders, including:
1. An Albert Order, constructed of gilded silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Latin Cross with white enameled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular green enameled laurel leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a gilt profile of Duke Albert III, situated within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS” (“ALBER THE BOLD”), the reverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a gilded and enameled Saxon coat of arms, situated within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt institution date of “1850” with arabesques, topped by a crown and suspension ring, unmarked, measuring 15.15 mm (w) x 27.38 mm (h), weighing 2.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
2. A Saxe-Ernestine House Order, constructed of gilded silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms completing in ball finials, joined through the quadrants by lions passant, the obverse bearing a central gilded medallion overlaid by a raised profile of Duke Ernst I, situated within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “FIDELITER ET CONSTANTER” (“FAITHFUL AND STEADFAST”), in turn surrounded by a green enameled laurel wreath, the reverse bearing a gilded and enameled Saxe-Ernestine coat of arms, situated within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt date of “D. 25. DECEMBER 1833”, in turn surrounded by a green enameled laurel wreath, topped by a crown and suspension ring, unmarked, measuring 15.92 mm (w) x 25.86 mm (h), weighing 2.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
