(Königlicher Kronen-Orden, Kreuz III. Klasse in Gold). Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1869-1916 issue). Constructed of 14k Gold with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms trimmed with gilded borders, the obverse bearing a central Gold medallion overlaid by a raised crown, situated within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) with arabesques, the reverse bearing a central Gold medallion overlaid by a raised monogram of King Wilhelm I, situated within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt institution date of “DEN 18 OCTOBER 1861”, the twelve o’clock arm topped by an integral loop and suspension ring retaining a period original ribbon, the six o’clock arm maker marked with the logo of Neuhaus & Sohn, Berlin, measuring 42.95 mm (w) x 46.27 mm (h), weighing 11.9 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt monogram of King Wilhelm I, the interior with a padded white satin lid liner and depressed maroon velvet medal bed, the latter retaining a ribbon for retraction, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 82 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), a high-quality example in extremely fine condition.
