(Herzog Ernst Medaille). Instituted 16 September 1906 by Duke Ernst I. (1906-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and rightward-facing profile of Duke Ernst II, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a raised monogram of Duke Ernst II, situated within a circular laurel leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 33.48 mm in diameter, weighing 17.5 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a white satin lid liner retaining a band for the accommodation of the ribbon, with a fitted dark blue velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 56 mm (w) x 60 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition.
