(Waffen-SS Ritterkreuzträger Trauerschleife). A pair of postwar Waffen-SS Knight’s Cross recipient funeral sashes with a Charlemagne Division connection, including:
1. One of two-piece rayon construction, executed in a red, white, and black tri-colour motif in emulation of the ribbon of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, with each end completing in a gold bullion wire fringe, with the obverse of one end bearing a gilt inscription of “ORDENS-GEMEINSCHAFT DER RITTERKREUZTRÄGER” (“ORDER OF KNIGHT’S CROSS BEARERS”), topped by a black Cross Pattée bearing initials “O. D. R.”, otherwise unmarked, each length measuring 24 cm (w) x 94 cm (l), the two halves have separated from their stapled connection and demonstrate only minor material fatigue, in near extremely fine condition.
2. One of two-piece rayon construction, with one end executed in equal parts black and white and the other in red, white, and blue tri-colour, the former bearing an obverse inscription of “LETZTE KAMERADENGRÜßE” (“LAST COMRADE GREETINGS”) and the latter bearing an obverse inscription of “DIV. CHARLEMAGNE” for or form a veteran of the 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne, otherwise unmarked, each length measuring 18 cm (w) x 100 cm and stapled together at the centre, with minor soiling and material fatigue evident, in near extremely fine condition.
