(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of Second World War service awards produced according to 1957 regulations, including:
1. A 1939 Iron Cross I Class, constructed of neusilber and iron, consisting of a vaulted Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed and silvered frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.34 mm (w) x 44.24 mm (h), weighing 14.3 grams, demonstrating lifting of the inner corners consistent with post-manufacture vaulting by the owner, in extremely fine condition.
2. A German Cross in Gold, constructed of neusilber with gilt and enamels, the obverse consisting of a double-overlaid eight-pointed radiant starburst, bearing a central silvered disc overlaid by a raised Iron Cross with a blackened core and three central oak leaves, situated within a circular gilded laurel leaf wreath, wrapped in ribbon and joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing an institution date of “1941”, trimmed along both the inner and outer edges with red enamels, the reverse with four visible rivets securing the obverse applique in place, with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 64.33 mm (w) x 63.82 mm (h), weighing 74.6 grams, demonstrating a striking patina to the obverse rays, in extremely fine condition.
3. A German Cross in Silver, constructed of neusilber with enamels, the obverse consisting of a double-overlaid eight-pointed radiant starburst, bearing a central silvered disc overlaid by a raised War Merit Cross with Swords, situated within a circular laurel leaf wreath, wrapped in ribbon and joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing an institution date of “1941”, trimmed along both the inner and outer edges with red enamels, the reverse with four visible rivets securing the obverse applique in place, with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 64.30 mm (w) x 64.01 mm (h), weighing 76.6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
