In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

The recipient is Georg Berthold, the president of an unknown organisation. The document is dated to Berlin on April 20, 1937 and carries a facsimile of A.H.
The accompanying letter is dated to May 29, 1937 and signed by Reich Postal Minister Wilhelm Ohnesorge.
Footnote: Wilhelm Ohnesorge was born in 1872 and started his career within the postal system in 1890. He became Leader of the Postal Service in the Imperial Headquarters during the First War. Ohnesorge met Hitler in 1920 and, that year, founded one of the first non-Bavarian NSDAP local groups. Also in 1920, he joined the NSDAP, with membership number 42. After becoming President of the Reich Postal Central Department in 1929, Ohnesorge went into the Reich Postal Ministry in 1933. He was appointed Reich Postal Minister in 1937, but actually unofficially led the Ministry much earlier than that while still State Secretary. Ohnesorge, having studied physics at university, was fascinated by science and supported projects to research anything wireless, as well as the German atomic bomb project. Ohnesorge was awarded the Golden NSDAP Party Badge and, in 1944, the Knight’s Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords. He died at the age of 89 in 1962.
