Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Spanish Volunteer Medals

(Erinnerungsmedaille für die spanischen Freiwilligen im Kampf gegen den Bolschewismus). A pair of Spanish Volunteer Medals, both on loops for suspension from a postwar replacement ribbon, the obverse of each bearing a central raised sword overlaid by shields bearing raised Heer and Falange insignia, topped by a Stahlhelm, and situated above a swastika flanked by clutches of laurel leaves, the reverse of each bearing an inscription of “DIVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE VOLUNTARIOS EN RUSIA” (“DIVISION OF SPANISH VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA”), above an Iron Cross topped by laurel branches, the suspension loop of one maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “1” for Deschler & Sohn, Munich, the other unmarked, both measuring 32.44 mm in diameter, weighing 12.3 grams and accompanied by original wax paper liners, demonstrating total loss of bronze finish, in overall very fine condition.
