(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of awards for Spanish Civil War and Blue Division service, of post-war Spanish manufacture, including:
1. A Spanish Volunteer Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a central raised sword overlaid by shields bearing raised Heer and Falange insignia, topped by a Stahlhelm, and situated above a swastika flanked by clutches of laurel leaves, the reverse bearing an inscription of “DIVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE VOLUNTARIOS EN RUSIA” (“DIVISION OF SPANISH VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA”), above an Iron Cross topped by laurel branches, unmarked, measuring 32.48 mm in diameter, weighing 19.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
2. A Spanish War Cross Breast Star, constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a vaulted eight-pointed pebbled star, overlaid by a gilded cross with its arms joined together through the quadrants by a circular laurel leaf wreath and with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, overlaid by a central enameled medallion bearing the coat of arms of Castile and León, within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “AL MERITO EN CAMPAÑA”, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse applique in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 64.62 mm (w) x 64.36 mm (h), weighing 42.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
3. A miniature medal chain featuring five awards, including two Spanish War Cross Breast Stars, one Commemorative Medal for the Campaign of 1936-1939, and two Crosses of Military Merit, all constructed of gilded, silvered, and blackened bronze with multi-coloured enamels, suspended from a 65 mm-long bronze bar with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, in extremely fine condition.
