Description
(Schlageterschild, II. Form für Kämpfer). Instituted 26 May 1933 by the Schlageter-Gedächtnis-Bund. (1933-1936 issue). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, surrounding a central Latin Cross, flanked by campaign clasps reading “SPARTAKUS 1919/23”, emanating from an inscription of “SCHLAGETER”, in turn situated above a pair of crossed swords, the reverse with visible clips securing the campaign clasps in position, with a vertical pinback, maker marked “PAUL KÜST, ABZEICHEN- U. ORDENFABRIK, BERLIN”, measuring 48.25 mm (w) x 60.52 mm (h), weighing 42.5 grams, demonstrating minor loss of finish to high-contact points throughout the base metal, in extremely fine condition.
