(Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz mit Foto). Constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36.61 mm (w) x 44.27 mm (h), weighing 6.8 grams, accompanied by its original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the exterior bearing an inscription of “VERWUNDETENABZEICHEN SCHWARZ” and a maker’s mark of “HEINRICH WANDER, GABLONZ/NEIßE”, measuring 60 mm (w) x 100 mm (h) and retaining an original wax paper liner, demonstrating minor surface oxidation to the base metal, in near mint condition; accompanied by a period photo of a recipient, consisting of a studio portrait of a Heer Enlisted soldier wearing an overseas cap and with both the Black Grade Wound Badge and War Merit Cross II Class ribbon visible, flanked by his wife, the reverse in unused postcard format, printed on Agfa paper, measuring 9 cm (w) x 14 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
