Germany, SS. A Rare Waffen-SS Officer’s Brocade Belt and Buckle, by Overhoff & Cie

(Waffen-SS Paradefeldbinde für Offiziere). A rare and extremely well-preserved Waffen-SS Officer’s belt and buckle set, the former constructed of a reinforced field-grey doeskin base, overlaid across the obverse by a silver aluminum wire tresse which bears alternating oak leaf clusters and double Sig runes in machine-embroidered impressions, and which is trimmed along both the top and bottom edges with double lengths of black machine-embroidered piping, with one end stitched into a loop for the accommodation of an aluminum clip, the opposite end stitched with a reverse slate-grey leather tongue perforated with nine sets of dual eyelets for an adjustable fit, featuring two loops similarly constructed of silver aluminum wire tresse, retaining a partially-intact SS Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo bearing an illegible maker’s code, with a size mark of “100” stamped onto the tongue, measuring 4.5 cm (w) x 105.5 cm (l), a superb Officer’s example in extremely fine condition; the latter constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a raised SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, situated above a banner bearing an inscription of “MEINE EHRE HEIßT TREUE” (“MY HONOUR IS LOYALTY”), the reverse with a clip and attachment claws emanating from a swivel loop, stamped with double Sig runes, an RZM logo, the maker’s mark of Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid, and matching code of “36/38”, measuring 50 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
