A group of third reich belt buckles, consisting of:
1. A Luftwaffe Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckle, constructed of aluminum, the obverse with a pebbled surface bearing a central raised Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, set within an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a ribbon, the reverse with a cast catch and multi-piece claw, bearing the maker mark of “Assmann & Söhne” and dated “39”, measuring 61 mm (w) x 48 mm (l), in better than very fine condition.
2. An HJ Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckle, constructed of silvered magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a central raised German national eagle with its wings outstretched clutching an HJ insignia, situated within a ribbed ring bearing the inscription “Blut und Ehre” (Blood and Honour), the reverse with a soldered catch and multi-piece claw-and-roller assembly, marked “RZM M4/22” on the reverse for manufacture by Christian Theodor Dicke, measuring 63 mm (w) x 48 mm (l), in near very fine condition.
3. An 1847 Pattern Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckle, constructed of partially-silvered brass, the obverse bearing a central raised crown, set within a ribbed ring bearing the inscription “Gott mit uns” (God with us) with laurel branches within the Imperial crown, the reverse with loop and swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 48 mm (w) x 61 mm (l), the faceplate on the obverse somewhat dented and with greenish oxidation on the reverse, in overall better than fine condition.
4. A “De-Nazified” Red Cross Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckle, constructed of aluminum, the obverse with a pebbled surface bearing a central raised eagle with outspread wings clutching a static Greek cross, surrounded by oval laurel leaf twigs bound together at the bottom by a ribbon, the reverse with a cast catch and a multi-piece claw assembly, marked “Ges. Gesch. 1” on the reverse, measuring 63 mm (w) x 48 mm (l), the swastika that was once on the chest has been removed by drilling through the buckle, leaving a small hole, in better than fine condition.
