Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years, with Case

(Dienstauszeichnungen der Polizei, I. Klasse für 25 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1944 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patté with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central oval disc overlaid by a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.21 mm (w) x 48.07 mm (h), weighing 23.1 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux slate-grey exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt number “25” situated within an oak leaf wreath, the interior with a padded white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted grey velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), the case demonstrates some material fatigue and the detachment of its lid insert while the award remains in an extremely fine condition.
