Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Police Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei, I. Klasse für 25 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1944 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from a period original cut-down ribbon, consisting of an elongated Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central oval disc overlaid by a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.13 mm (w) x 48.36 mm (h), weighing 22.9 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux dark green leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt number “25” situated within a semi-circular oak leaf wreath, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with an olive-drab felt medal bed, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating minor tarnishing and loss of finish to the base metal with some fatigue to the exterior of the case, in near extremely fine condition.
