Germany, Ordnungspolizei. An 8-Year Long Service Medal, III. Class, c. 1943

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei III. Klasse für 8 Jahre). Instituted January 30th, 1938. (1943-1945 issue). A circular silvered tombac medal, on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak wreath overlaid by a German National eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised number “8”, circumscribed by an inscription of “Für Treue Dienste in der Polizei” (For Faithful Service in the Police) in German Fraktur script, unmarked, measuring 37.9 mm in diameter, weighing 28.60 grams, with contact marks on the obverse and reverse from wear, in near extremely fine condition.
