In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Schutzstaffel Degen für Unterführer). An Allgemeine SS Non-Commissioned Officer’s (NCO) dress sword, measuring 96 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features an 81 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip and with a fuller running approximately two-thirds of the top edge of each side. Unmarked, the blade sits securely within a multi-piece hilt, with an intact white wool buffer pad covering the seam. A magnetic metal crossguard extends to form a hand guard and integrates into the pommel, which displays a medallion overlaid by double Sig runes. A single piece of ribbed black wool composes the handle grip, which also features a magnetic metal oak leaf ring situated adjacent to the crossguard. The sword is accompanied by its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. A loop and ring are set into the shaft just below the throat for the accommodation of a hanger. The throat has magnetic metal applique featuring a runic design, and retains a spring catch to firmly hold the sword in place during storage. Issues consistent with age and storage are evident, and include running marks and minor tarnishing to the blade, extensive surface oxidation throughout the hilt which also demonstrates total loss of nickel plating, and moderate loss of paint with consequent surface oxidation throughout the scabbard. An untouched example, the sword remains in a fair condition.
