A grouping of three Third Reich German military service awards with award documents, consisting of:
1. A War Merit Cross First Class with Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse mit Schwertern) Instituted October 18th, 1939 (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centerpiece, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse plain with a raised barrel hinge, banjo-style pinback and flat wire catch, marked “L11” on the reverse for manufacture by Wilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid, measuring 48.4 mm (w) x 48.5 mm (l), weighing 23.00 grams, in overall extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by an award document for a War Merit Cross First Class with Swords to Unteroffizier Johannes de la Motte of the Große Eisenbahn-Pionier-Kraftwagen-Kollone 638 (born on 14.03.1909 in Kempen) and awarded on April 20th 1943, and signed by General der Eisenbahntruppen Otto Will and bearing a stamp from the Befehlshaber der Eisenbahntruppen, measuring 140 mm (w) x 200 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
2. A War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords. (Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern). Instituted October 18th, 1939 (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of bronze, with a fixed loop and ring for suspension, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central wreathed date of “1939”, unmarked, accompanied by a period original matching ribbon, measuring 48.3 mm (w) x 48.3 mm (l), weighing 22.72 grams, in extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by an award document for a War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords to Unteroffizier Johannes de la Motte of the Große Eisenbahn-Pionier-Kraftwagen-Kollone 638 (born on 14.03.1909 in Kempen) and awarded on 30.03.1942, and signed by General der Eisenbahntruppen Otto Will and bearing a stamp from the Befehlshaber der Eisenbahntruppen, measuring 148 mm (w) x 208 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
3. A Driver Proficiency Badge in Bronze. (Kraftfahrbewährungsabzeichen in Bronze). Instituted October 23rd 1942. (1942-1945 issue), constructed of bronze magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a laurel wreath consisting of two laurel branches tied together at the base containing a depicting of a steering wheel, with a field gray wool core and a metal backer, measuring 51 mm in diameter, with all of its finish lost through age and wear, in near very fine condition.
Accompanied by an award document for a Driver Proficiency Badge in Bronze, to Unteroffizier Johannes de la Motte of the Große Eisenbahn-Pionier-Kraftwagen-Kollone 638 and awarded on 15.12.1943, and signed by an unknown Oberstleutnant and bearing a stamp, measuring 140 mm (w) x 200 mm (l), previously folded in half, in very fine condition.
