Description
A Grouping of Third Reich German Service Awards with Award Documents, consisting of:
1. A West Wall Medal (Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen). Instituted August 2nd, 1939. Constructed of bronzed zink, on a fixed loop and ring for suspension, the obverse with a crossed shovel and sword in the centre, and a concrete pillbox/bunker directly below, as well as with the German national eagle above, all within an oak leaf wreath, the reverse inscribed “Für Arbeit zum schutze Deutschlands” (For labour for the protection of Germany) within an oak wreath, unmarked, measuring 33.4 mm (w) x 45.6 mm (l), weighing 13.56 grams, accompanied by a modern replacement ribbon, with all of its finish worn off, in fine condition.
Accompanied by an award document for a West Wall Medal to Unteroffizier Franz Siedenkamp of the 3. Infantry Regiment 80, issued on March 20th, 1940 in Wiesbaden. It is signed by the Oberst of the regiment, stamped with a partially visible seal, measuring 149 mm (w) x 210 mm (l), in near mint condition.
2. A Silver Grade Wound Badge. (Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber). Instituted on March 3rd 1918. Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a cast hinge, vertical pinback, and a broken-off cast catch, marked “30” for manufacture by the Vienna Mint, nearly all of its silver finish worn off, in better than fine condition.
Accompanied by an award document for a Silver Grade Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber) to Oberfeldwebel Franz Siedenkamp of the 12. Grenadier Regiment 464, for his injuries sustained on 13.6.1943, 29.6.1943, and 06.08.1943. It is signed by the Oberfeldarzt and bears the official stamp of the Straubing field hospital. It is dated August 30th, 1943 and measures 143 mm (w) x 200 mm (l), in overall better than extremely fine condition.
3. A Black Grade Wound Badge. (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). Instituted on March 3rd 1918. Constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a functional vertical pinback, an unmarked example, measuring 37.0 mm (w) x 44.5 mm (l), weighing 10.19 grams, near mint condition.
Accompanied by an award document for a Black Grade Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz) to Oberfeldwebel Franz Siedenkamp of the 12. Grenadier Regiment 464 for the injury sustained on June 13th, 1943. The document was awarded on July 7th, 1943, is signed by the Hauptmann of the regiment, and bears a regimental seal on the bottom left corner, measuring 140 mm (w) x 199 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
4. An award document for a 4-Year Long Service Award to Unteroffizier Franz Siedenkamp of the 3. Infantry Regiment 80 for 4 years of loyal service in the Wehrmacht. It was issued in Koblenz on April 5th, 1938, bearing the official seal of the Infantry Regiment 80 on the bottom left corner, measuring 210 mm (w) x 297 mm (l), in near mint condition.
5. A certificate of receipt for a Wehrmacht coat in the value of 36 reichsmark, dated February 22nd, 1943 and bearing the seal of the Feldpostnummer 42690, measuring 207 mm (w) x 148 mm (l), previously folded into quarter-sections, with partial tears in the folds, in near very fine condition.
6. A Divisional Shooting Competition certificate to Oberfeldwebel Siedenkamp of the 4. Infantry Regiment 736 for achieving a satisfactory score in shooting 5 shots at 150m distance, signed by an unknown Generalmajor, measuring 213 mm (w) x 182 mm (l), in near mint condition.
