(Verdienstkreuz des Ordens vom Deutschen Adler mit dem Stern, Verleihungsurkunde mit weiteren Papieren). An award documented for an Order of the German Eagle, II Class Cross with Breast Star, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to “MINISTERIALDIREKTOR IVO BAGLI”, dated 2 March 1938, and certified by the facsimile signature of AH and handwritten signatures of Minister of Foreign Affairs Joachim von Ribbentrop and President Otto Meissner, concealed within a period original card stock folio, the cover bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 26 cm (w) x 37 cm (h), in turn retaining its original envelope, addressed to Baglia as a resident of Rome and featuring the letterhead of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, also accompanied by the statutes of the order, constructed of card stock with non-paginated interior pages, measuring 21 cm (w) x 29.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor discolouration to the award document and material fatigue to the envelope, in overall near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Records indicate that Ivo Bagli held posts with customs and excise agencies in the Italian government, coming into contact with German authorities during the period of the Italo-German alliance.
