In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
This is a one of a kind ID booklet of Johann Unterreitmeier - owner of a “Wagnerei” (Wheelwright’s Factory) since January 15, 1930. He was born on December 3rd, 1887 and resided in Wartenberg on Adolf Hitlerstraße 87 when the ID booklet was issued on August 26, 1935. The booklet is signed by the president of the Handwerkskammer (Ministry of Skilled Trades), as well as by himself. The booklet measures 151 mm x 104 mm folded shut and is in better than extremely fine condition.
Footnote: During the Third Reich, these ID booklets were used to help differentiate factory owners from regular civilians. Being a factory owner proved to be beneficial in some circumstances, since factory owners during the war were most-often exempt from military service, and, depending on the goods produced, were sometimes subject to special treatment. Wheelwrights were extremely important during the war, since, although the Wehrmacht was notorious for being highly mechanized, Infantry forces relied heavily on horses and carriages.
