The Wehrpaß is dated to Munich on June 10, 1936. Measuring 104x145mm, very fine condition with scuffing and creasing of the cover.
Footnote: Johann Emil Will was born on February 4, 1916 in Munich. He joined the RAD (National Labour Service) for his mandatory half year term on April 4, 1938 and was dismissed on October 25 of the same year. Shortly after, on November 14, Will joined the army and was placed in the Signals Platoon of Artillery Regiment 7. During his service, Will would go on to take part in a number of training courses, namely for radio operating, horseback riding, military musicians, medical orderlies, and drivers of motorized vehicles. On August 25, 1939, he joined the Staff of Artillery Regiment 268. Later that year, Will was stationed on the Western Front, between the rivers Moselle and Rhine. He was promoted to Gefreiter (Lance Corporal), and then to Unteroffizier (NCO) on May 1 upon enlisting for a minimum of twelve years. On May 25, 1940, Will joined the Artillery Replacement Battalion 212. He stayed with them until November 4, 1941 when he was placed in Artillery Regiment 27 and sent to the Eastern Front. Will took part in the failed attack on Moscow. He was awarded the Eastern Front Medal. Between September 12, 1942 and January 30, 1944, he served in the Reconnaissance Battalion (Croatian) 369, fighting partisans in the Balkans. On January 30, 1944, Will died in a car crash, the circumstances of which are unknown.
