(SS Suchdienst Papiere). A pair of HIAG (Mutual Aid Association of Former Waffen-SS Members) Tracing Service Files for members of the 8th SS Cavalry Division Florian Geyer, including:
1. One named to SS-Sturmmann Franz Stroh, who was born on 11 September 1921 in Bački Jarak, Yugoslavia (now Serbia) to an ethnic German family, and who served with the 8th SS Cavalry Division Florian Geyer. His last known whereabouts were on 30 December north of Budapest during the Red Army’s siege of that city. The request for information was filed by his father, Franz. It retains a black-and-white studio portrait of Stroh wearing an SS Enlisted personnel uniform. Measuring 21 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), it remains in an extremely fine condition.
2. One named to SS-Unterscharführer Friedrich Geubecke, who was born on 4 April 1908 in Schöningen, and who served with the 8th SS Cavalry Division Florian Geyer. His last known whereabouts were in Budapest on 20 December 1989, during the Red Army’s siege of that city. The request for information was filed by his wife, Hildegard. The file retains a black-and-white portrait of Geubecke in a Waffen-SS NCO uniform. Measuring 21 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), it remains in an extremely fine condition.
