Description
Description
(Soldbücher und Wehrpässe). A mixed lot of Wehrmacht service booklets, including:
1. A Soldbuch, constructed of a card stock binding with 24 paginated interior pages filled with handwritten and stamped entries, named to Grenadier “LUDWIG HUBER”, who primarily saw service with Grenadier units and was confined to hospital for much of 1943 and 1944, appropriately receiving the Black Grade Wound Badge on 1 December 1943, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), demonstrating moderate material fatigue and the loss of the bearer’s photo, in very fine condition.
2. A second Soldbuch, constructed of a card stock binding with paginated interior pages filled with stamped and handwritten entries, named to Unteroffizier “HERBERT ROHR”, who served with infantry (machine gun) units and who was released from service in 1945 after suffering gunshot or shrapnel wounds throughout his left side, accompanied by Rohr’s Wehrmacht driver certificate and an assorted group of photos, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), demonstrating material fatigue which includes the loosening of the binding and deliberate removal of the cover’s swastika to permit use as a post-war identity document, in very fine condition.
3. A Wehrpaß, constructed of a card stock binding with 52 paginated interior pages filled with handwritten and stamped entries, named to “KARL VEROVŠEK” (also spelled “VEROVŠEKY”), who was born on 19 March 1906 in Linz, whose recorded service between 9 January 1940 and 16 October 1944 included attachment to a number of engineer/construction and security units on both the Western and Eastern Front, the former including combat in Rhine and Moselle regions during the invasion of France, and the latter including service in Romania and Poland, retaining a certified studio portrait of the bearer, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue, in near extremely fine condition.
4. A second Wehrpaß, constructed of a card stock binding with 54 paginated interior pages lightly filled with handwritten and stamped entries, named to “KARL KLAGES”, who was born on 5 September 1897 in Holzminden (Braunschweig), who served on the Western Front and in the Balkans from 10 January 1918 until 10 January 1919 but with no recorded Second World War combat service, retaining a certified studio portrait of the bearer, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), the cover swastika has been obscured to allow for use as a post-war identity document, in near extremely fine condition.
