Germany, Wehrmacht. A P38 Holster, with Wartime US Veteran Dedication, by Hans Römer

A well-preserved P38 holster, constructed of multiple panels of pressed and blackened leather, the exterior featuring a side pocket for the accommodation of a spare clip, riveted with a magnetic metal loop fitting through an analogous grommet set into a retractable flap with a leather strap for secure closure, the reverse stitched with two leather loops to facilitate belt attachment, the reverse exterior stamped with a mark of “P. 38”, a Waffenamt code of “WAA23”, and a maker code of “BML/43”, the latter two indicating manufacture by Hans Römer, Neu Ulm, in 1943, the interior notably bearing handwritten inscriptions of “JAMES A. STULLER” and “A.S.N. (ARMY SERIAL NUMBER) 15060512”, indicating that the holster was retrieved in wartime by a US serviceman, measuring 19 cm (w) x 24 cm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue consistent with field use, a superb example with a personalized and researchable Allied souvenir dedication in near extremely fine condition.
