In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Kriegsmarine Stahlhelm M35). A very well-preserved Kriegsmarine M35 Stahlhelm (steel helmet), constructed of a single sheet of magnetic molybdenum steel which retains the majority of its original Heer regulation apple-green paint. Three rivets are distributed around the outer circumference for the accommodation of the interior fixtures, while the crown is also flanked on each side by an integral ventilation hole stamped directly into the shell. Situated directly below the left vent is a partially-intact decal consisting of a black shield bearing a Kriegsmarine-issue, golden-brown Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, measuring 34 mm (w) x 40 mm (h). Completing the exterior features is a crimped rim, providing a smooth edge throughout the bottom of the skirt. An aluminum ring surrounds the interior of the crown, and accommodates a brown leather liner which culminates in right fingers, each perforated with five ventilation holes and an additional eyelet through which is looped and original drawstring. Aluminum loops descend from the sides of the ring and retain a two-piece blackened leather chinstrap which is adjusted with a functional magnetic metal buckle. Stamped onto the right side of the skirt is a maker’s code of “ET64”, indicating manufacture by Eisenhüttwerke, Thale, with a shell size of 64, while the liner is double-marked with a size of “57” in black ink. Also visible on the front of the liner is a handwritten owner’s name of “K. MAYER”. The helmet measures approximately 23 cm (w) x 28.5 cm (l) x 15.5 cm (h). Minor scratching and loss of paint is visible throughout the shell, resulting in some surface oxidation and deterioration of the decal, while the chinstrap demonstrates fatigue consistent with moisture exposure and storage conditions. The helmet remains in an overall better than very fine condition.
