(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar to an Austro-Hungarian combatant of the First World War with distinguished Third Reich-period police service, featuring four decorations, including:
1. An Austrian War Commemorative Medal, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 36.10 mm in diameter, demonstrating loss of gilt finish, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A Police Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central oval disc overlaid by a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), without visible marks, measuring 43.10 mm (w) x 48.00 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. A 1908 Jubilee Cross, on loop for suspension with its period original civil servant-issue ribbon, constructed of gilded bronze, consisting of a Cross Pattée with its arms joined through the quadrants by a circular laurel leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a raised and rightward-facing profile of Emperor Franz Joseph, flanked by name, the reverse bearing central raised dates “1848-1908”, the obverse engraver marked “R. MARSCHALL” for Rudolf Marschall, measuring 36.14 mm (w) x 40.80 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
4. A Hungarian War Commemorative Medal, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 36.95 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
All suspended from a 100 mm-long bar with a non-magnetic metal core, horizontal pinback, and field-grey wool reverse liner, unmarked, demonstrating minor soiling to the ribbons, a Third Reich-assembled bar in near extremely fine condition.
