Description
Description
(Feldbluse für einen Schützen des SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiments “Der Führer”). The tunic is constructed of field gray wool, featuring a turned-down collar flanked by collar tabs that appear to be mismatched, each constructed of a buckram core, the exterior of the right tab constructed of a black cotton blend, with the obverse bearing machine-embroidered dual silver-grey sig runes. The left tab is blank, with the exterior topper consisting of a black wool blend, each measuring 50 mm (w) x 36 mm (w). The collar itself is reinforced on the underside with a tan cotton layer, featuring a metal hook and loop as well as a set of field grey bakelite buttons on either collar for secure fastening. Secured to the shoulders is a set of shoulder straps via a single loop sewn onto the tunic, and via a single magnetic field grey pebbled button. The shoulder straps themselves are constructed of a black wool topper and a field grey wool core and trimmed with rose-pink piping, indicating Panzer personnel, with black reverse straps bearing reinforced buttonholes meeting an identical buttonhole on the main strap, and measuring 44 mm (w) x 104 mm (l). The left sleeve is adorned near the shoulders by a Waffen-SS eagle, constructed of black wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 90mm (w) x 41 mm (h). On the cuff of the left sleeve is a “Der Führer” cuff title, constructed of ribbed black rayon, the exterior trimmed along the top and bottom edges with machine-embroidered silver aluminum tresse, bearing a central machine-embroidered silver-grey fabric inscription “Der Führer”, measuring 25 mm (w) x 85 mm (l). The breast of this tunic features a total of four pleated pockets, all closing with scalloped flaps, and secured via a single magnetic field gray pebbled button, except for the right waist pocket button, which is mis-matched, and constructed of pebbled aluminum. The two sides of the tunic are secured together using five matching magnetic pebbled buttons that are met by reinforced button-holes on the opposing flap. The interior is partially lined by a grey rayon herringbone cotton liner, with belt straps suspended from the interior of either sleeve and maker marked using a black stamp, reading “Hermann Petuzzi, Uniformschneider, Tirol” along with a set of five double-digit numbers for sizing, stamped on the inside along the left side of the tunic. It measures approximately 46 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 65 cm, and an overall body length of 87 cm. The tunic is in worn condition, with light to moderate mothing throughout and material fatigue from age and field use. In overall very fine condition.
