Germany, Third Reich. A Group of Twenty-Six Fire Gilded Kriegsmarine Tunic Buttons

A group of 26 fire gilded Kriegsmarine tunic buttons, consisting of:

1) A group of five matching Kriegsmarine buttons, constructed of fire gilded bronze with a magnetic loop, the obverse bearing raised fouled anchors, and marked “Kriegsmarine 1938 THG” on the reverse, measuring 20.3 mm in diameter.

2) A group of four matching Kriegsmarine buttons, constructed of fire gilded bronze with a non magnetic loop, the obverse bearing raised fouled anchors, the reverse unmarked, measuring 20.0 mm in diameter. 

3) A group of three matching Kriegsmarine buttons, constructed of fire gilded magnetic metal with a zink core and loop, the obverse bearing raised fouled anchors, the reverse marked “C. TH. Dicke”, measuring 20.6 mm in diameter.

4) A group of nine Kriegsmarine buttons, constructed of fire gilded bronze with a magnetic loop, the obverse bearing raised fouled anchors, three buttons marked “Kriegsmarine JFS 1940” and six buttons marked “Kriegsmarine JFS 1942”, measuring 20.4 mm in diameter.

5) A group of five mismatched Kriegsmarine buttons, constructed of varying fire-gilded metals,  the obverse bearing raised fouled anchors, the reverse marked with varying dates and maker marks, measuring approximately 20.0 mm.

A fine group of twenty six fire gilded Kriegsmarine buttons, some with all of their finish remaining while others have lost half or more, in overall better than fine condition.
