(Erinnerungsmedaille für Rettung aus Gefahr der Republik Preußen). Instituted 9 June 1925 by the Ministry of the Interior. (1925-1936 issue). Constructed of silver, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle circumscribed by an inscription of “REPUBLIK PREUSSEN” (“REPUBLIC OF PRUSSIA”), the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR” (“FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER”), situated within a circular oak leaf wreath executed in high relief, unmarked, measuring 50.32 mm in diameter, weighing 56.0 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded German national eagle, the interior with a padded white satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a fitted maroon velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, the base maker marked “PREUSS. STAATSMÜNZE, BERLIN S.W. 19” for the Prussian Mint, measuring 80 mm (w) x 80 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), demonstrating some edge nicks and bruising to the medal, in overall near extremely fine condition.
