(Deutscher Adler Orden, Kreuz II./III. Klasse). Instituted 1 May 1937. (1939-1943 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, each joined through the quadrants by an NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika on a white enameled disc, the twelve o’clock arm topped by a fan suspension and integral loop retaining a suspension ring and period original shortened length of neck ribbon, the integral loop stamped with a silver content number of “900”, otherwise unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Gebrüder Godet, Berlin, measuring 50.17 mm (w) x 59.45 mm (h), weighing 28.1 grams, demonstrating sporadic loss of gilt finish throughout the base metal in addition to minor flecking to the enamels (with some discolouration to the lower edges of the reverse three and nine o’clock arms), in extremely fine condition.
