Silver medallion, obverse bearing the relief profile image of Duke and Duchess of Connaught facing left, inscribed THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESS THE DUKE & DUCHESS OF CONNAUGHT around the perimeter, reverse bearing the Royal arms with supporters with the arms of Connaught superimposed, inscribed PRESENTED BY H. R. H. THE DUKE OF CONNAUGHT K. G. GOVERNOR GENERAL CANADA around the perimeter, 51.7 mm, near very fine condition. Housed in original case of issue, fine condition.
Footnote: Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, (1850-1942), was the third son of Queen Victoria. He spent a career in the army, renouncing his succession, and also devoted much of his energy to horticulture and freemasonry. He was Governor-General of Canada from 1911 to 1916.
