A Royal photograph album formerly belonging to The Queen’s head Chauffeur, Mr. William Leslie Chivers R.V.M, containing photographs of the Royal Family touring Scotland. The front and rear covers of the album are constructed of a cardstock core with a blue textured faux leather (leatherette) exterior. The pages are held together by a single blue faux leather strap with a metal buckle along the spine of the album. It contains twelve very large black-and-white photographs depicting Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, Prince Phillip, Churchill, and Prince (His Majesty the King) Charles in formal and informal scenarios. It measures 360 mm (w) x 265 mm (l), and is extremely well preserved.
Footnote: Mr. William Leslie Chivers R.V.M joined The Royal Household after the Second World War having been a professional Chauffeur prior. He became Head Chaffeur to His Majesty King VI. on the retirement of the previous Head Chaffeur, and continued in that role for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth after the King’s death in 1952 until the late 1970’s.
