A General Service Medal (1918-1962), in silver, rim impressed 22281574 PTE. J REGAN. RAOCJ, worn on original ribbon with MALAYA clasp(1949-52 Issue), lovely patina, remains in very fine condition.
A General Service Medal (1918-1962), in silver, rim impressed T/22775880 CVR. T. TYSON. R.A.S.C., worn on original ribbon with velcro adhesives at the ends with MALAYA clasp (1955-56 Issue), the medal has been cleaned and exhibits scratches throughout, in near very fine condition.
Footnote: The General Service Medal was instituted by King George V by Army Order on January 23, 1923 as a contemporary award of the Naval General Service Medal. The Silver Medal was awarded to members of the military and royal air force in recognition of service in minor campaigns between 1918 and 1962 outside of campaigns in India and East, West, and Central Africa that were already recognized by the Africa or India General Service Medals.
