United Kingdom. An Order of the Bath, Commander by Garrard & Co., in Case, c.1918

Instituted May 18, 1725. Type II (1815-). Military Division. An Order of the Bath, in silver gilt and enamels, a white enamel Maltese cross with large ball finials, a high relief lion in each quadrant, the obverse medallion presenting the thistle and three crowns, encircled by a red enamel ring inscribed TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO, with an exterior green enamelled wreath, a blue banner sits on the 6 o’clock arm inscribed ICH DIEN, the reverse mirrors the obverse, a corinthian style floral suspension at 12 o’clock, suspended from a full length red neck ribbon, measures 49.07 mm (w) x 59.0 mm (h), weighs 29.0 grams not including ribbon, lions in beautiful high relief, in extremely fine condition.

In the original case of issue, a black pebbled leather-look exterior, inscribed "C.B. MILY." in gold-coloured ink on the lid, inside lid in white satin, padded and maker marked "GARRARD & Co. Ltd. / 24, ALBEMARIE St., LONDON" base with a recessed and slotted medal bed in off-white felt, push release, dual-hinged, measuring 165 mm (w) x 90 mm (h) x 34 mm (d), light wear to exterior, in extremely fine condition.
